SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Naypyitaw, Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Kayin State, scattered in Bago Region and isolated in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayah, Mon, Eastern Shan States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 2°C above February average temperature in Southern Shan State, 3°C to 4°C above February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States, 5°C above February average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 5.0°C in Hakha, 8.5°C each in Tiddim and Heho, 9.5°C in Mongyang, 11.7°C each in Putao and Loilin, 12.4 °C in Lashio, 12.5°C in Hsipaw, 13.0°C in Pinlaung and 13.2°C in Mohnyin. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.71 inch in Ela, 0.63 inch in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), 0.51 inch in Pyinmana, 0.47 inch in Kawkareik, 0.39 inch in Laiway, 0.35 inch in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri), 0.23 inch in Pyinmana(Walgyi) and 0.08 inch each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), Tatkon, Thaton, Pinlaung, Kalaw and Nyaung Shwe.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northweatwards and intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area and reached over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is likely continue to move West-Northwest during next 48 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the South Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd February 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kayah, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions Kachin, , Kayin, Mon States and isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Northern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin State.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States.
